![]() It brought back the lighter tone with an orientation towards problem-solving, growing, and strategizing rather than excessive murder. Anyway, this arc was a ton of fun and is probably my favorite. Gon and Killua make a massive amount of progress here, plus they have some lovely interactions with Hisoka. If anything, the Phantom Troupe arc took away from the show by distracting from Gon's quest to see his father. The adverse experiences themselves were what made it great. I get that the Troupe provided the story with a "bad guy", or villain, though I was more than engaged with this show even when there was no primary antagonist. ![]() I'm sort of surprised that this arc received criticism for being a letdown compared to the previous arc involving the Phantom Troupe.
